The successful candidate will be trained to deliver effective and comprehensive advice to people living in Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford.
The role will involve providing clients with help and support regarding all welfare benefits issues including income maximisation and also providing information and advice on other topics such as Debt, Housing and Employment issues.
This is not an opportunity where we focus on academic qualifications and acquired professional experience/skills. What we are looking for are driven and dedicated people who want to learn how to deliver effective high quality advice to people living in Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford.
What’s on offer?
- A 6 month fixed term contract.
- First-class training delivered by experienced Citizens Advice learning, development and advice quality specialists. The majority of the training will be delivered in Oldham.
- The chance to shadow and work in a variety of advice delivery placements across Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford which covers the full range of generalist advice and specialist advice in debt, housing and welfare benefits by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- Travel expenses for outreach site visits/advice delivery.

What you need to apply?
The posts are suitable for beginners who have strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills. The ability to demonstrate solid evidence of your commitment to our values and beliefs and a passion for learning and development is a must. We are looking for committed and driven people with a great work ethic and masses of potential.
There is no academic entry requirement. The main criteria we recruit on are commitment, potential and drive.
You must be able to work flexibly as you will be required to move around to different locations and will spend some of your training and placements in an outreach centre away from your main base.
You will also be expected to demonstrate that you can work with a wide range of colleagues and members of the public.
